At its core, content curation is like a great editor or blogger who brings his unique taste and understanding of his target audience to his selection of the best content for his readers.

Heidi Cohen provides an outstanding list of good content curation strategy. She hit the target with this following statement:
"Adds real value. Provide commentary as to why the content is worth your readers’ time. These insights should enhance the content promoted."
Most of the content shared on various networks is not curated! It's just taking 2 seconds to share a link you found - most of the time you probably didn't read the article and you're just pushing it to have something to post in your feed.
This is the "noise" of the internet in activity streams on facebook, twitter, and LinkedIn. I respect and look for individuals who provide insight, and where it's obvious they have read the article and are providing context to me for how it's relevant.
What do you do - share links or curate content for your network and followers?
