I've just discovered this in the 'Funny' category from http://themetapicture.com -it brightly illustrates a common English phonics rule...
- - - - - - - -
This will do a great poster to show how important stressing the right word(s) is in English ! Yet I'm surely changing the words -and try to find a more 'positive' fact to pin on the classroom walls.
How about "I never saw her bring PokemonGo creatures in my class" ??? Nah, just kidding... :-}

"Score a goal with the language of soccer" | ESL SPORTS IDIOMS

"Score a goal with the language of soccer" | ESL SPORTS IDIOMS | eflclassroom | Scoop.it
You don’t have to play football — or soccer — to speak the language of the world’s most popular sport. Just use any of these common soccer-related phrases.

Scoopingaddress's curator insight, June 27, 2015 3:08 AM

"Kicking the whistle on someone", "being on the ball", "getting the ball rolling" and other phrases... these US sports idioms illustrate the language and will help EFL learners memorise and enrich their lexis.

-----------------

I'm looking forward to melt this with lessons for my pupils... many of them are crazy about football and will be proud of getting to master such phrases :o)

Have your students create their own speech !

- Lexis and 'historical' brainstorming around the word "speech" >> create a mind map

- Article analysis : pictures (description / commenting / interpreting - justifying choices) and texts (comprehension - grammar / vocabulary / civilisation...)

- Creating a 3' speech (&  its supporting material : notes - a mind map, a list, ...) and a sign that sums up the conveyed message.
