BigBlueButton plugin for Moodle updated for Moodle 2.8

BigBlueButton plugin for Moodle updated for Moodle 2.8 | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it

BigBlueButton is an open source web conferencing and webinar/virtual classroom tool which has been available since 2007. The project has come along way since then, in 2013 it introduced recording, LTI integration, and other long sought after features [release notes: https://code.google.com/p/bigbluebutton/wiki/ReleaseNotes]. In 2015 the platform for synchronous communication also introduced pausing to recording, the ability to do an audio check before starting a session, listen only mode and more (above and beyond the already vast feature list introduced in the previous releases).

Recently, and updated plugin for Moodle 2.6, 2.7 and now 2.8 was released by Blindside Networks, the creator of BigBlueButton. The Moodle activity allows users to leverage all service capabilities directly from a Moodle course where the integration has been made.

Check it out at: https://moodle.org/plugins/view/mod_bigbluebuttonbn

From Moodle, the activity will let you,

* schedule
* record
* join live sessions
* restrict access
* and much more

Best 15 Free Video Conferencing Tools 2012

Best 15 Free Video Conferencing Tools 2012 | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it

Robin Good: If you are looking for a free video conferencing solution, here is my selection of the top 15 (and more) solutions available right now online.

I have personally checked each one of them, and while you may not like each one, they all guarantee the ability to video conference with more than two people (FlashMeeting is the only exception I have included) without you needing to pay anything for it.

Some, as good as Vidyo or Zoom.us may provide HD quality video and even full support for mobile platforms. Others, like MeBeam or Sinfor offer bare-bone ad-supported solutions that have zero frills but can do the job if you need an immediate, zero-cost solution.

Check it out here: http://pinterest.com/robingood/top-15-free-video-conferencing-tools-2012/

P.S.: Feel free to suggest tools you know that should belong in this collection.
