Morgan Stanley published a forecast that by 2020 there will be75 billion connected devices. Harbor Research estimate the IoT market to be a meager 8 billion connected devices. Cisco suggests to split the difference (50 billion connected devices), IDC’s estimate calls for 30 billion connected devices, and Gartner, which recently published a technology Hype Cycle Report placing the IoT at the Peak of Inflated Expectations, offers an estimate of 26 billion connected devices… you get the point.
